The recent purchasers of this church were told the building was constructed in 1950. Seeing the pews & the building I knew this was not accurate. After some archival research through the University of Illinois database, I was able to show the new owners the rich history of the building and town. With the cornerstone laid in 1878, this historic church housed this beautiful-pine pew for nearly a century & a half.
